Trinity University’s Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a Lecturer for the 2025-2026 academic year, beginning in August 2025. Trinity is committed to better reflecting the diversity of our student body and of society at large through our faculty. Individuals whose identities are underrepresented in physics and astronomy are strongly encouraged to apply.

This position is a 9-month full-time non-tenure-track position, with an initial 3-year appointment. Additional 3- or 5-year contracts are possible after favorable review. Promotion to Senior Lecturer is possible after 5 years of service. Candidates must possess at least a master’s degree in physics or a closely related field, PhD preferred. Some teaching experience is strongly preferred.

The primary responsibility of this position will be teaching and coordinating our introductory lab sequence and supporting our introductory courses. This position has a teaching load of three labs per semester plus administrative and service responsibilities. A course load of two lab sections and one lecture class could be negotiated. There is also the potential for additional teaching and compensation during the summer term.

Additional duties include administrative tasks associated with the lab course and providing support for lecture demonstrations in the department’s introductory courses. Lecturers are fully integrated into the department and are expected to contribute to departmental and university service.
