The Department of Astronomy at Yale University invites applications for an open-rank Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position in Exoplanet Science. We are especially interested in candidates focused on the study of exoplanets. The position is expected to begin on July 1, 2025. The application deadline is Monday, November 1, 2024.
Faculty members of Yale’s Astronomy Department conduct research, teach undergraduate and graduate astronomy and astrophysics courses, and supervise graduate and undergraduate research. They are eligible for Yale’s generous package of benefits, including health coverage, and they are encouraged to participate in the wide range of professional development opportunities offered through the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office. Researchers at Yale have institutional access to the Keck Observatory, the Palomar Observatory, and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). Arrangements for purchase of time on the Lowell Observatory EXtreme PREcision Spectrograph (EXPRES), and the Simons Observatory are also possible. Yale researchers also have access to a state-of-the-art high-performance computer center through the Yale Center for Research Computing.
