The Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Rochester and the Laboratory for Laser Energetics are seeking to hire a post-doc fellow under the supervision of Prof. Antonino Di Piazza. The position is funded through the NSF-GACR grant described at

also in collaboration with the group led by S. Weber at ELI Beamlines in Czech Republic.

The successful candidate is expected to work theoretically in the area of strong-field QED dealing especially with the emission of radiation by several charges in the presence of strong electromagnetic fields (please click on the link above for more details). Candidates are expected to have a strong theoretical background in high-field QED, as well as experience with advanced numerical techniques.

The position is immediately available and the duration of the funding is up to three years. Interested candidates should provide a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a statement of research interests, as well as suggest two senior fellows available to provide letters of recommendation.
