We are seeking a Principle Physicist in our Broomfield, CO Location.
Quantinuum is looking for a highly qualified Quantum Computing Scientist to apply their knowledge base to unique industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in theoretical modeling of quantum error correction schemes.
In this role, you will apply previous experience in theoretical physics to help guide the development of quantum error corrected trapped-ion quantum computers. These computers have particular pros and cons, which will be the key to a system level optimization of this developing quantum information processor. Here you will be working with a team of theorists and experimentalists to help understand our current limitations and discover methods to get around them. In addition to theoretical quantum error correction, this will involve working closely with quantum-characterization-verification-validation experts, AMO experts, algorithm designers, and experimentalists.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with other theorists and experimentalists in the identification of performance limitations and mitigation strategies. Work with the Architecture team to define future generations of quantum computers. Work with the experimental teams to produce groundbreaking scientific results. Communicate results within our technical team and to the outside community in publications and presentations
YOU MUST HAVE:
- PhD prior to start
WE VALUE:
- Completed PhD in Physics or related field with background in quantum computing. Experience in designing quantum error correction protocols Experience in numerical modeling of quantum systems Experience in high performance (classical) computing Familiarity with quantum error mitigation techniques Formal background in theoretical physics with a proven track record of solving outstanding and challenging problems Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results within their field of research.
